Homemade Casual Huaraches

After reading so much about them I finally decided to make a pair for myself.

I ordered a big sheet of Vibram Cherry 4 mm sole rubber online (www.footcaresupply.com)
and for the lacing I used 4mm utility cord from REI.

I made these just for a casual wear at places I do not go barefoot (pretty much just restaurants, stores and public buildings). I just could not stand ZEMs (too hot) and flip-flops (scrunched toes) anymore.

I am not planning to run trails in them since I only run barefoot but will be taking them on my runs as emergency shoes.

Worked out pretty good and I really like them.

  1. They look awesome and durable!
Q: how has the knot under the sole beside the big toe held up?
